Thirdly, in the presence of a catalyst such as aluminum trichloride or ferric trichloride, tert-butyl chloride and carbon monoxide are used as starting materials, the tert-butyl chloride is subjected to carbonylation to prepare pivaloyl chloride, and then chlorination reaction is carried out to generate chloro pivaloyl chloride.
